Shanghai Ends China GT Summer Break For Absolute Racing Teams

  • Hard Memory actor-racer Han Geng is back
  • BBT make series debut
  • Absolute Racing to service eight cars during the weekend

Shanghai, September 6th, 2017 – The wait is over! The summer pause that followed the last Zhuhai race allowed the China GT Championship field to take a breath and recharge the batteries to start a busy second half of the season. Bentley Team Absolute and Absolute Racing will be back in action this weekend in Shanghai.

Making their return to the championship after skipping the last event at Zhuhai are Alexandre Imperatori and singer-actor Han Geng. Both drivers are anxious to get back onto the track after the long break. They will share driving duties for the fan-favorite #9 Hard Memory Bentley Continental GT3.

Comprising long straights and short turns, the 5.451 km Shanghai track hosts the Formula One Grand Prix of China, and it has been a regular fixture on the FIA WEC calendar since 2012. It is also where the team’s state-of-art workshop is located.

Bentley Team Absolute have fond memories of China GT Championship at Shanghai International Circuit. Last season the Bentley Team Absolute contested the last round of the Chinese series in the Jiading District located track with a Continental GT3. Wild-card drivers Adderly Fong and Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak put a hard fought performance to win both races.

Beside the Bentley and a six-car armada in the Audi R8 LMS Cup, Absolute Racing will also enter the #37 BBT Audi R8 LMS GT3 in what is widely recognised as the most competitive national GT championship in Southeast Asia.

BBT founder and regular driver Anthony Liu will take the wheel of the Audi. He will be joined by the longstanding Absolute Racing driver, Franky Cheng CongFu.

The China GT Championship weekend kicks off with the Official Practice on Friday 8th. Qualifying and races will be streamed live in English on China GT’s Facebook page, and in Chinese across multiple media platforms.
