Absolute Racing Porsche teams deliver another strong performance in the fourth race meeting of the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia at Japan’s Fuji International Speedway. An Asia-Pacific Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup team is set to debut at this month’s 2019 Total 24 Hours of Spa. As the GT3 sportscar elite meet at one of the world’s most breath-taking race tracks, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, reigning Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup champion Andrew Haryanto joins fellow championship stars Yasser Shahin, Jeffrey Lee and Sun Jingzu. Absolute Racing achieved better than expected results at the legendary 5.807km Suzuka Circuit this past weekend with Eshan Pieris finishing in the points in all three the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA races, as his teammate Daniel Cao also picked up points in the two first rounds, which included a podium position in race two after crossing the line in second.

Absolute Racing will expand its participation in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia at the next race in Suzuka, Japan to include one Audi R8 LMS GT4.

“We are delighted to see two Cup drivers team up to debut the Audi R8 LMS GT4 in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia,” said Martin Kuehl, Director of Audi Sport customer racing Asia. “GT4 competition is rapidly gathering strength across the region, and the addition of Anderson Tanoto and Mark Williamson to our Audi line-up further reinforces our presence in this prestigious championship.”

Reigning Audi Sport R8 LMS GT4 Cup champion Anderson Tanoto of Indonesia and 2010 Asian GT4 Cup champion Mark Williamson of Australia will debut the Audi R8 LMS GT4 in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia.

Chinese rising star Leo Ye Hongli will join Absolute Racing in the Blancpain GT World Series Asia at the Suzuka International Racing Course on June 22/23. The 27-year-old driver will pair up with Yuan Bo in the #912 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R.

Leo Ye, who has earned accolades in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship and Asian Le Mans Series, debuted in the Blancpain GT Series Asia in 2017 and took part in the first three events of 2018, finishing second overall in Round 3 in Buriram.

The 2018 China Touring Car champion is no stranger to Porsche cars having represented China in the first running of the FIA GT Nations Cup last year in Bahrain at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3-R.
