Sri Lanka’s Eshan Pieris has joined Absolute Racing for this year’s F3 Asian Championship certified by FIA Winter Series. The 20-year-old Colombo-native graduates from Asian Formula Renault Series, in which he completed his maiden single seater season.

Pieris is Sri Lanka’s number one motor racing prospect and he is following in the footsteps of many of today’s promising young drivers by competing in the Asian top junior single-seater category. His signing by Absolute Racing is an evidence of his readiness to step up in the racing ladder.

Chinese promising young driver Ye Yifei graduates into F3 Asian Championship certified by FIA with Absolute Racing. The 18 year-old will join the team in the final round of the season in Sepang, on November 24/25, and will contest the Winter Series that takes place between January and February 2019.

Ye Yifei has been identified as one of China’s most exciting young racing talents. He began racing karts there when he was eight and won two national titles. After racing in Japan he came to Europe where he made the move to single-seaters in 2015 to conquer the French F4 Series title in 2016. In 2017, he stepped up to Formula Renault Eurocup where this season he made history by being the first Chinese driver to win a race. He finished the season third in the standings.

Absolute Racing leaves Ningbo International Speedpark in an upbeat mood after a consistent weekend of results that saw the team achieve six top six finishes and a Masters class win in the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA Rnd 10, 11 and 12.

Setting the grid positions for race one, Jaden Conwright set a lap time of 1:40.728 min to sit in second on the time sheet. Akash Nandy stopped the clock five hundredth of a second behind him; enough to put him on the sixth place of the grid for the start of race one on Saturday afternoon.

Absolute Racing heads into this weekend’s 2018 Blancpain GT Series Asia season finale ready to do battle.

Going into the season’s final weekend the best-placed Audi shared by Absolute Racing’s Franky Cheng and Martin Rump is lay in sixth place in the GT3 Drivers Championship. The Audi Sport Asia drivers are theoretically in the hunt for the title but represent a more likely Silver Cup challenger.

In the Silver Cup, 29 points covers the five crews that could yet win the class title at Ningbo, and Rump and Cheng are also potential champions in waiting. The championship contest is hotting up as the penultimate race weekend of the inaugural F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA at Ningbo approaches. In terms of title fight, the series is now entering the decisive phase.

Ningbo’s new circuit is no longer an unknown quantity. Last June, Absolute Racing celebrated a victorious weekend at Ningbo International Speedpark during rounds 4, 5 & 6, with Jaden Conwright taking its maiden win of the season on the 4.010km Chinese track. The Chinese lucky number eight proved to be just that today as the #888 Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Audi Sport Asia driver Martin Rump and Chinese talents Bao Jinlong and Yuan Bo took victory from pole in the inaugural SIC888 endurance race in Shanghai. One of Asia’s best young exports is the latest name to join the ranks of the inaugural SIC888 endurance race scheduled for Shanghai International Circuit on October 7, reigning Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup champion Alessio Picariello named alongside a couple of Cup legends – former championship runner-up Andre Couto, and the man who has made more starts than any other over seven seasons of the Cup, Jeffrey Lee.

The experienced Audi trio will form part of an Absolute Racing J-Fly entry where they will challenge for outright victory in the 888-kilometre event.

All three have experience competing together in endurance events, Couto and Lee sharing a car in the Japanese Super Taikyu series this year – making the podium in the hotly contested Fuji 24 Hour event – whilst Picariello and Lee have contested GT3 events across Asia as a strong partnership in the past.
