Bentley is no stranger to the world’s racing stars driving its race cars, but this season a film star will enter the ranks as Hard Memory actor Han Geng joins Bentley Team Absolute to make his racing debut.
Han Geng, who travelled to the UK earlier this year so he could prepare with Bentley Motorsport, will pilot the #9 Hard Memory Continental GT3 alongside Swiss-born Shanghai resident Alexandre Imperatori in the extremely popular China GT Championship
DALLAS, Texas (Oct. 6, 2016) – Experienced Bentley Continental GT3 driver Fabian Hamprecht (Germany) will stand in for Bentley Team Absolute regular Adderly Fong in the Pirelli World Challenge, this weekend, as the Hong Kong racer looks to take a China GT Championship win on home-soil. Hamprecht will team with Andrew Kim (South Korea) at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the series finale.
A clash with China GT on Fong’s home soil with an excellent chance at victory has created the opportunity for Hamprecht to make his World Challenge and North American racing debut in the No. 88 Bentley Continental GT3. The 21-year old has four years of racing experience under his belt in various GT sprint and endurance series across Europe and Asia, including an Asian GT event with Bentley Team Absolute.
Back for his second Pirelli World Challenge event, Kim will again pilot the No. 78 Bentley Continental GT3 in the GTA [...]
DALLAS, Texas (Sept. 13, 2016) – Bentley Team Absolute will enter two cars in the Pirelli World Challenge Championship for the final rounds at Sonoma Raceway and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The No. 78 Bentley Continental GT3 will be driven by Andrew Kim (South Korea) in the GTA class.
Kim is no stranger to Absolute Racing or Bentley; in the GT Asia series, he partners with Adderly Fong (Hong Kong) in the No. 7 Bentley Continental GT3. The duo is eighth in the championship there, having scored a win and three podiums together. Sonoma will be Kim’s North American race debut and marks the first time a Korean driver has participated in a Pirelli World Challenge race.
Kim can glean some advice from teammate Fong, who is a full-season PWC driver in the No. 88 Bentley Continental GT3. Fong is currently eighth in GT Drivers Championship and recently scored back-to-back runner-up finishes at [...]
TOOELE, Utah (Aug. 16, 2016) – Bentley Team Absolute driver Adderly Fong (Hong Kong) scored a pair of runner-up finishes in the latest two rounds of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship at Utah Motorsports Campus. He also came away with the fastest race lap of the weekend.
In the heat of the Utah desert, Fong qualified his No. 88 Bentley Continental GT3 sixth for Saturday’s Round 16 race. At the start, a spinning car blocked Fong’s path through Turn One, dropping him to 10th as the race went full-course yellow. On the ensuing restart, Fong perfectly navigated another Turn One accident, and climbed all the way to third.
From there, Fong put pressure on the No. 43 Acura TLX-GT for several laps, before eventually moving into second place. He had his sights set on the leader, but ran out of time to catch him before the checkered flag.
DALLAS, Texas (Aug. 11, 2016) – Only five rounds remain in the Pirelli World Challenge Championship and two of them will be completed this weekend at the Utah Motorsport Campus, just outside of Salt Lake City. Bentley Team Absolute driver Adderly Fong (Hong Kong) is aiming to advance further up the Drivers Championship in the season’s home stretch.
Coming off the back of a top-10 result in the most recent round at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Fong is currently ninth in the GT Drivers Championship. The Pirelli World Challenge newcomer heads to yet another unknown circuit in the No. 88 4.0L twin-turbo V8–powered Bentley Continental GT3.
Located in the Utah desert, the 3.048-mile, 14-turn permanent road course is flanked by the Great Salt Lake and the Oquirrh Mountains. It is one of the younger breeds of North American circuits, having just opened in 2006. The track features few elevation changes and blowing sand [...]
LEXINGTON, Ohio (Aug. 2, 2016) – In the latest round of the Pirelli World Challenge GT Championship at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Bentley Team Absolute showed it could rebound from some tough luck and stay focused on bringing home points. After missing Saturday’s race, Adderly Fong (HK) finished Sunday’s race in 10th despite starting from the back of the grid.
Fong once again faced a circuit he’d never been to before. Still, with only 80 minutes of track time (Friday’s practice was cancelled due to lightning), he was able to qualify his No. 88 Bentley Continental GT3 in sixth.
Unfortunately, while on the pace lap for Saturday’s race, a gearbox issue prevented Fong from taking the start. Without an official race lap, he had to start Sunday’s race from the back of the grid.
Starting 18th, Fong picked his way through the back of the field quickly, moving into 12th in the [...]
