On a less than easy weekend in the streets of Bangsaen, Thailand, Absolute Racing serviced teams added another win to its tally. Team StarChase’s Philip Hamprecht won the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) Round 5 as Bao Jing Long took the honors for Zheng Tong Auto in the Pro-Am Class.

As with many Carrera Cup series this year, PCCA switched to the second generation 911 GT3 Cup car, bringing faster lap times amongst a number of improvements to the 12thedition of the Bangsaen Grand Prix.

Hamprecht registered the second best time in qualifying. This year’s PCCA returnee Maxime Jousse timed in sixth fastest, while Tanart Sathienthirakul posted the seventh best time. AAS Motorsport by Absolute Racing’s Jousse and est cola PTT’s Sathienthirakul were promoted one place up the grid because of an opponent grid penalty.

Further back in the field, Yuan Bo was placed seventh on the grid, while Bao Jing Long, who did the

Absolute Racing racers Akash Nandy and Jaden Conwright put on a very satisfactory performance at Sepang International Circuit in the opening event of 2018 F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA, including an impressive second place finish of Nandy in Round 3 on Sunday.

After a long week of assembling the Autotecnica Motori Alfa Romeo-powered Tatuus built cars and consequent first testing sessions, Nandy delighted his home fans putting in a respectable recital in the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA first ever qualifying session. The Malaysian driver set the fourth fastest time in Q1. He further improved in Q2, posting the second-fastest lap time, missing out on pole position by just four-hundredths of a second.

On the other side of the Absolute Racing garage, Jaden Conwright did an equally great job. The American driver, who didn’t run on Friday morning’s free practice session due to an electric problem, was eighth fastest in Q1. He also improved his position

Absolute Racing is determined to make its mark in the inaugural season of the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA that kicks off this weekend at Sepang International Circuit with Malaysia’s Akash Nandy and USA’s Jaden Conwright at the helm.

The team took delivery of two brand new Tatuus F.3 T-318 just ahead of this weekend’s round. It was all planned out. At the team’s HQ in Malaysia, Absolute Racing technicians worked at full throttle to get all the parts and pieces together, assembling the Autotecnica Motori Alfa Romeo-powered cars, getting it ready for the official pre-season test sessions on Monday and Tuesday which has taken place at Sepang International Circuit.

 

In anticipation of the weekend, Nandy and Conwright have been on top form during testing with both drivers showing their intentions clear with strong pace throughout. The team now look to put this into practice this weekend and the young duo face the

Absolute Racing headed to the new Ningbo International Speedpark for the weekend’s two joint GT Masters Asia and GT Asia Series races. Following the win at the GT Asia Series season-opener in Sepang, Bhurit Bhrombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri stormed to an outstanding double victory in China.

In the first qualifying session on Saturday morning, Bhurit Bhirombhakdi put #59 Singha PlanB Motorsport by Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS on pole position for the first race of the weekend. Sun Jinzhou qualified fourth in the #13 Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS, while Vincent Floirendo placed the #155 EN Sports by Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS in sixth.

Bhirombhakdi and Kusiri (#59 Singha PlanB Motorsport by Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS) fought all the way from pole to win. The Thai duo carried their wonderful qualifying form into the race and set a fast pace from the early laps with Kusiri at wheel. Bhirombhakdi received the

GT Asia Series front-runners Absolute Racing head to China this weekend as the competitive battle for the title resumes at the Ningbo International Speedpark.

At the moment Cheng Congfu and Sun Jingzu lie second in the championship standings, just a single point adrift. Eyeing a maiden win, #13 Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS duo is aiming to get back on podium form after a strong round at Buriram, where they finished second overall in the opening race. Racing in home soil for the first time this season, the Chinese duo is looking to put that pace to good use this weekend.

Malaysian Akash Neil Nandy will join the Absolute Racing for the inaugural season of Formula 3 Asian Championship certified by FIA alongside USA’s Jaden Conwright.

Having raced in single seaters since 2011, Nandy made his European debut in 2014 after taking third in Formula Masters China Series. The Malaysian driver also had a strong showing in 2015 where he graduated to German Formula 3 Cup, missing out on the title by just one point despite the fact he missed four races.

In 2016 Nandy took part of the GP3 Series and won the GT-Am class of the Asian Le Mans Series, stepping up to Porsche Carrera Cup Asia in the following season, where he finished eight overall.

Nandy is not a stranger to Absolute Racing. He tested for the squad’s Carrera Cup Asia outfit in the winter at Sepang, impressing with his speed and progress. He will have the first contact with the

Absolute Racing celebrated a return to the rostrum at Suzuka Circuit, with Martin Rump and Cheng Congfu claiming team team’s first win of the season during Round 5 and 6 of the Blancpain GT Series Asia.

Saturday was a glorious day for the team in Japan. All it started with Martin Rump setting the pole position for race one; the second pole-position of the season for the team. Am drivers Anthony Liu and Andrew Kim qualified 11th and 14th respectively for the opening round of the weekend.
