Tanart Sathienthirakul will compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for a second consecutive full season having completed a deal with Absolute Racing.
Last season the 25-year-old driver Thailand debuted in the series with Absolute Racing, finishing seventh in the Overall Class standings, and both parties are now happy to announce the continuation of his partnership with the team.
For 2018 the championship will be more challenging than ever before with the introduction of a new and even more powerful 911 GT3 Cup. Nevertheless, with a strong showing in the Sepang pre-season testing, Tanart and Absolute Racing have made their intentions clear for the approaching season.

The youngest Porsche China Junior driver rejoins Absolute Racing after a successful debut season in the Formula Masters Asian Series, tagged as Asia’s premier Formula car championship.
The Shanghai native racer began his career in karting, where he quickly showed a natural talent by winning the Rotax Max Challenge China Junior category at the young age of 14. He moved up the ladder in 2017 with Absolute Racing, having taken 7 wins and 4 podiums, and the Formula Masters Asian Series vice-championship crown.
Lu’s huge talent was recognized and rewarded by being selected as the 2018 Porsche China Junior. The life-changing regional talent search saw nearly 300 of applicants narrowed down to just 7 finalists, with Lu emerging on top after a series of trials that tested the young talent’s driving ability,
Absolute Racing has confirmed it will enter a pair of Audi R8 LMS GT3s in Blancpain GT Series Asia this year.
The team ran a variety of cars on behalf of themselves and others last season, but most notably the OD Racing Audi driven by Aditya Patel and Mitch Gilbert who missed out on the overall Drivers’ title by just one point. J-Fly by Absolute Racing driver Alessio Picariello also starred en route to three pole positions in five outings.
While Absolute’s driver crews are yet to be confirmed, the team is expected to field both Pro/Am and Silver Cup pairings.

Absolute Racing is proud to confirm that the team will be on the grid for the inaugural 2018 Formula 3 Asian Championship certified by FIA following the official launch of the series last Friday.
The Sepang, Shanghai and Zhuhai based squad, who have a huge amount of race winning experience in singles seaters, will add this new junior formula to its racing programmes in Audi R8 LMS Cup, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and Blancpain GT Series Asia.
The addition of this championship will bolster the FIA single-seater pyramid in the region, giving the most talented local or overseas junior drivers an ideal next step in their careers.

Leading Chinese film and TV production company, NINE Entertainment, has been announced as an official series partner of the Audi R8 LMS Cup for 2018. NINE Entertainment’s CEO Alex Yan became the first Asian Audi R8 LMS GT4 customer when he received one of the race cars – from the first batch of 12 produced worldwide – at an Audi Sport customer racing event in Neuburg, Germany today.
The race car will be entered into the 2018 Audi R8 LMS Cup by team Hard Memory, which becomes the Cup’s first GT4 team. The team takes its name from a Chinese TV show produced by NINE Entertainment, with the car to be piloted in the Cup in 2018 by a Chinese star from the company’s roster.
Beijing, November 16, 2017 – The Audi R8 LMS Cup has announced its 10-round 2018 calendar that spans three continents and takes in some of the world’s premier events. With debuts in Australia at the Adelaide 500 and in Europe at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the Cup’s seventh season also includes two China double-headers in Ningbo and Shanghai. The championship will then come to a crescendo under the floodlights of its first night race at the season finale in Malaysia.
The season also includes the new Shanghai 888 endurance race as an invitational event for Cup competitors.

Shanghai, October 16th, 2017 – OD Racing pair Aditya Patel and Mitch Gilbert started off the weekend with an outside chance of clinching the title and they did everything they needed to be done. Patel and Gilbert won both Blancpain GT Series Asia races at the Zhejiang International Circuit, finishing one point shy of the title on a very wet race weekend.

Shanghai, 24th September 2017 – Absolute Racing celebrated the second consecutive Teams’ Championship on the Shanghai-based squad’s home circuit during an action-packed 2017 Formula Masters Series season finale.
Daniel Lu and James Yu were in title contention ahead of the last event of the season at the Shanghai International Circuit but title chances ended early for Yu after an accident on Saturday’s opening race. The Chinese driver car was not repairable in time for the second contest of the day.

SHANGHAI, 2nd of October – Absolute Racing run Team StarChase driver Philip Hamprecht narrowly missed out on a podium finish in Round 11 of the 2017 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at the Sepang International Circuit.
