DALLAS, Texas (Aug. 11, 2016) – Only five rounds remain in the Pirelli World Challenge Championship and two of them will be completed this weekend at the Utah Motorsport Campus, just outside of Salt Lake City. Bentley Team Absolute driver Adderly Fong (Hong Kong) is aiming to advance further up the Drivers Championship in the season’s home stretch.
Coming off the back of a top-10 result in the most recent round at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Fong is currently ninth in the GT Drivers Championship. The Pirelli World Challenge newcomer heads to yet another unknown circuit in the No. 88 4.0L twin-turbo V8–powered Bentley Continental GT3.
Located in the Utah desert, the 3.048-mile, 14-turn permanent road course is flanked by the Great Salt Lake and the Oquirrh Mountains. It is one of the younger breeds of North American circuits, having just opened in 2006. The track features few elevation changes and blowing sand [...]
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (June 26, 2016) – Bentley Team Absolute enjoyed its best Pirelli World Challenge weekend yet, with Adderly Fong (HK) securing pole position in Saturday’s race and collecting podium finishes both days.
Fong had never been to the 14-turn, four-mile road course before, but that didn’t stop him from clocking the fastest qualifying time in his No. 88 Bentley Continental GT3. His blistering lap of 2:05.352 (115.279 mph) was set on his final flyer, just as the checkered flag came out.
In Saturday’s 50-minute race, Fong was flanked by a pair of Acuras, who managed to beat the polesitter into the first turn. Fong did his best to retake the spot immediately, but ran wide in Turn Five and fell back to fifth. From there, he focused forward and was able to claw his way back to third by the race’s end. It was Fong’s first Pirelli World Challenge podium.
DALLAS, Texas (May 25, 2016) – After two runner-up finishes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last week, Bentley Team Absolute is taking its podium momentum to Lime Rock Park for the latest round of the Pirelli World Challenge championship.
It’s been a quick turnaround for Bentley Team Absolute; it had less than 34 hours to traverse 425 miles and clear customs before test sessions commenced at Lime Rock Park in northwest Connecticut. The trip was made easier by the fact that the team had just earned its first two World Challenge podiums and was carrying two second-place trophies to Lime Rock.
A legendary circuit in North America, Lime Rock Park is a short seven turns and 1.5 miles, with only one left-hand turn. Once again neither Andrew Palmer (US) nor Adderley Fong (HK) have raced at the circuit previously, but lack of track knowledge has yet to stop them from putting in strong (and podium-worthy) [...]
