New Zealand talent Jono Lester will join Absolute Racing for the second round of the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia. The Kiwi will share the #912 Porsche 911 GT3 R with Yuan Bo.

In Buriram, the 29-year old Lester, who has successfully established himself as a professional GT driver in Asia for the past eight years, having graduated from Porsche Carrera Cups at a young age, will take over the seat of Porsche Young Professional Dennis Olsen, who has commitments elsewhere. The duo will be entered in the Silver Cup.

Absolute Racing’s Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia campaign with Audi got underway at the 5.452-km Sepang International Circuit this weekend (6-7 April 2019) with third-place finishes in the Silver Cup and in the Pro/Am class and an Am Cup victory.

This season Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute enters two Audi R8 LMS GT3 “Evo” for Audi Sport Asia drivers Martin Rump of Estonia and Malaysian Weiron Tan. The pair will be on the hunt for the overall championship title as well as the Silver Cup trophy.

Singha Plan B by Absolute Racing Audi R8 joins Sepang grid Bhurit Bhirombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri together again B-Quik technical partnership set to continue


Singha Plan B by Absolute Racing will make its Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia return for the 2019 season-opener in Malaysia. 

In addition to the full season Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute entries, Absolute Racing will run an additional Audi R8 LMS GT3 “Evo” under the Singha Plan B Motorsport by Absolute Racing banner in Sepang with a view to adding extra Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia dates to its 2019 schedule. 

The team’s regular Thailand Super Series line-up of Bhurit Bhirombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri will drive the car run by the Chinese Absolute Racing squad. This race marks a return to familiar territory for Singha Plan B Motorsport by Absolute Racing. The team took part of Blancpain GT Series Asia rounds of Buriram and Fuji in 2017;

Absolute Racing heads into this weekend’s 2018 Blancpain GT Series Asia season finale ready to do battle.

Going into the season’s final weekend the best-placed Audi shared by Absolute Racing’s Franky Cheng and Martin Rump is lay in sixth place in the GT3 Drivers Championship. The Audi Sport Asia drivers are theoretically in the hunt for the title but represent a more likely Silver Cup challenger.

In the Silver Cup, 29 points covers the five crews that could yet win the class title at Ningbo, and Rump and Cheng are also potential champions in waiting. The Absolute Racing celebrated a remarkable Blancpain GT Series Asia double overall podium result at Shanghai International Circuit over the weekend, 22nd/23rdSeptember, and secured two class wins and more silverware at China’s Formula 1 circuit.

–Two Audi R8 LMS cars on the overall podium,

– “1-2” finish in the Pro-Am class in race one,

– Silver Cup podium finish in race two,

– Singha Plan B by Absolute Racing shines on Am Cup debut.


Saturday’s qualifying sessions saw Absolute Racing drivers performing strong once again. Cheng Congfu has stormed to a front row start for Round 9. The Chinese driver put together a 2:06.397 to start Saturday’s race from second.

The other story of Blancpain GT Series Asia’s first qualifying session was that of the Audi bronze-ranked drivers. Andrew Kim took Pro-Am pole (2:07.254), the highest qualifying bronze-ranked driver in the 32-car field, placing his car in seventh on the grid. Anthony Liu (2:07.631) qualified ninth overall
