Chinese promising young driver Ye Yifei graduates into F3 Asian Championship certified by FIA with Absolute Racing. The 18 year-old will join the team in the final round of the season in Sepang, on November 24/25, and will contest the Winter Series that takes place between January and February 2019.

Ye Yifei has been identified as one of China’s most exciting young racing talents. He began racing karts there when he was eight and won two national titles. After racing in Japan he came to Europe where he made the move to single-seaters in 2015 to conquer the French F4 Series title in 2016. In 2017, he stepped up to Formula Renault Eurocup where this season he made history by being the first Chinese driver to win a race. He finished the season third in the standings.

Absolute Racing leaves Ningbo International Speedpark in an upbeat mood after a consistent weekend of results that saw the team achieve six top six finishes and a Masters class win in the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA Rnd 10, 11 and 12.

Setting the grid positions for race one, Jaden Conwright set a lap time of 1:40.728 min to sit in second on the time sheet. Akash Nandy stopped the clock five hundredth of a second behind him; enough to put him on the sixth place of the grid for the start of race one on Saturday afternoon.

The championship contest is hotting up as the penultimate race weekend of the inaugural F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA at Ningbo approaches. In terms of title fight, the series is now entering the decisive phase.

Ningbo’s new circuit is no longer an unknown quantity. Last June, Absolute Racing celebrated a victorious weekend at Ningbo International Speedpark during rounds 4, 5 & 6, with Jaden Conwright taking its maiden win of the season on the 4.010km Chinese track. Absolute Racing drivers scored more podiums finishes and class wins at the team’s home rounds of the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA at Shanghai International Circuit this weekend as Jaden Conwright reached the podium on race three and Liu Zexuan won in the Masters class twice.

With Thursday’s practice sessions held in wet conditions, Saturday’s Free Practice presented the international field of fledging talent its first opportunity to run on the 5.451km home of the Chinese F1 Grand Prix in the dry. The Absolute Racing Formula 3 operation is back in action this weekend for the third round of the 2018 F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Heading to its local circuit as the series reaches its halfway point, the Absolute Racing squad is hoping home-advantage plays a part in the weekend’s proceedings in front of a home crowd on the iconic Chinese circuit.

American Jaden Conwright will be starting the weekend with the second place in standings after experiencing a positive weekend last time around in Ningbo, while Akash Nandy is looking forward to exploiting his full potential and making gains from the fourth position.

The Ningbo weekend’s results have helped Absolute Racing to close the gap to the team in front in the Teams Championship.

Absolute Racing celebrated a victorious weekend at Ningbo International Speedpark during rounds 4, 5 & 6 of the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA, with Jaden Conwright taking its maiden win of the season on the 4.060km Chinese track.

Heading into Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session off the back of a strong Free Practice performance, Conwright’s pace earned the #80 a first place spot for the start of Saturday’s opening race and for Sunday’s race ahead of team-mate Akash Nandy.

On Saturday’s morning race both Absolute Racing drivers had a poor start. Pole-sitter Conwright made a sluggish getaway and immediately lost three places but then enjoyed a good run to recover two positions during a thrilling first lap. The American showed a strong pace, setting the fastest lap of the race, but was just unable to put himself in a position to secure his first win in the series.

After the season kick-off in Sepang, the Absolute Racing is heading to Ningbo for the second event of 2018 F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA.

In the Malaysian opening round, Malaysia’s Akash Nandy and USA’s Jaden Conwright showed potential and they are both highly motivated to extract the maximum performance of the new Tatuus Formula 3 cars, knowing that the Ningbo International Speedpark features different characteristics.

Completed only last year, Ningbo’s new circuit is a relatively unknown quantity. The 4.015-kilometre track runs in an anti-clockwise direction and is located 250km south of Shanghai in China’s Zhejiang province.

The team is going into the weekend with optimism, after completing a successful two-day test, and expect to be competitive from the start. To better prepare the race weekend both drivers stayed in China over the short break.

Absolute Racing is determined to make its mark in the inaugural season of the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA that kicks off this weekend at Sepang International Circuit with Malaysia’s Akash Nandy and USA’s Jaden Conwright at the helm.

The team took delivery of two brand new Tatuus F.3 T-318 just ahead of this weekend’s round. It was all planned out. At the team’s HQ in Malaysia, Absolute Racing technicians worked at full throttle to get all the parts and pieces together, assembling the Autotecnica Motori Alfa Romeo-powered cars, getting it ready for the official pre-season test sessions on Monday and Tuesday which has taken place at Sepang International Circuit.

The Sepang, Shanghai and Zhuhai based squad, who have a huge amount of race winning experience in singles seaters, will add this new junior formula to its racing programmes in Audi R8 LMS Cup, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and Blancpain GT Series Asia.
