Absolute Racing racers Akash Nandy and Jaden Conwright put on a very satisfactory performance at Sepang International Circuit in the opening event of 2018 F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA, including an impressive second place finish of Nandy in Round 3 on Sunday.
After a long week of assembling the Autotecnica Motori Alfa Romeo-powered Tatuus built cars and consequent first testing sessions, Nandy delighted his home fans putting in a respectable recital in the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA first ever qualifying session. The Malaysian driver set the fourth fastest time in Q1. He further improved in Q2, posting the second-fastest lap time, missing out on pole position by just four-hundredths of a second.
On the other side of the Absolute Racing garage, Jaden Conwright did an equally great job. The American driver, who didn’t run on Friday morning’s free practice session due to an electric problem, was eighth fastest in Q1. He also improved his position
Absolute Racing is determined to make its mark in the inaugural season of the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA that kicks off this weekend at Sepang International Circuit with Malaysia’s Akash Nandy and USA’s Jaden Conwright at the helm.
The team took delivery of two brand new Tatuus F.3 T-318 just ahead of this weekend’s round. It was all planned out. At the team’s HQ in Malaysia, Absolute Racing technicians worked at full throttle to get all the parts and pieces together, assembling the Autotecnica Motori Alfa Romeo-powered cars, getting it ready for the official pre-season test sessions on Monday and Tuesday which has taken place at Sepang International Circuit.
In anticipation of the weekend, Nandy and Conwright have been on top form during testing with both drivers showing their intentions clear with strong pace throughout. The team now look to put this into practice this weekend and the young duo face the

Shanghai, May 22nd, 2018 – Absolute Racing is pleased to announce Jaden Conwright as one of its drivers for the inaugural season of Formula 3 Asian Championship certified by FIA. The 19-year-old, who resides in California in the USA, is the first confirmed driver for Sepang, Shanghai and Zhuhai based team’s single seater programme and arrives in Asia with a solid racing background in America and Europe.
2016 World Speed Motorsports Rising Star Award winner Jaden Conwright has competed in the highly competitive Italian F4 Championship in 2015, scoring five top 5 finishes and one podium finish. Last season Conwright took part of a Driver Development Programme from one of the European single seater powerhouses in preparation for the 2018 season.
