Porsche Motorsport Asia-Pacific customer team Absolute Racing are fired up and prepped to tackle the penultimate round of the 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli season this weekend (August 23-25), and the 48th running of the Summer Endurance sports car race at Suzuka in Japan.

Dirk Werner (GER), Matt Campbell (NZL) and Dennis Olsen (DNK) will drive the #912 Porsche 911 GT3 R of the newly-crowned Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia Teams’ champions. This trio is just seven points adrift from the top spot in the #IntGTC Drivers’ standings as Porsche lies second in the Manufacturer’s standings just eight points behind.

Lining up against arguably the most competitive GT3 grid in the world, Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup drivers Andrew Haryanto, Jeffrey Lee, Sun Jingzu and Yasser Shahin brought the Absolute Racing-run #80 Audi R8 LMS GT3 home tenth in the AM Cup class, and 50th overall under extremely difficult weather conditions.

An Asia-Pacific Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup team is set to debut at this month’s 2019 Total 24 Hours of Spa. As the GT3 sportscar elite meet at one of the world’s most breath-taking race tracks, the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, reigning Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup champion Andrew Haryanto joins fellow championship stars Yasser Shahin, Jeffrey Lee and Sun Jingzu. The seats were awarded via the Cup’s 2018 season Road to Spa initiative.

The Audi Sport Team Absolute Racing celebrated a superb podium in the Suzuka 10 Hours race today (26 August). Audi Sport drivers Christopher Haase/Kelvin van der Linde/Markus Winkelhock brought their #6 Audi R8 LMS home in third place after the ten hour-long race.

In the Pro/Am class, the #13 Absolute Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Cheng Congfu, Adderly Fong and Sun Jingzu finished sixth in class, 22nd overall.

Absolute Racing is all set for one of the biggest challenges on the GT calendar, the 10-hour race at the sensational Suzuka circuit in Japan (24/25 August), the third round of the 2018 Intercontinental GT Challenge.

As previously announced, Audi Sport drivers Christopher Haase and Markus Winkelhock, who scored full points at Intercontinental GT Challenge round of Spa-Francorchamps, are joined by Kelvin van der Linde in the – Audi Sport customer racing supported Audi R8 LMS #6 Audi Sport Team Absolute Racing entry for this event.

A Pro/Am privateer Audi R8 LMS from Absolute Racing completes the lineup. The two Chinese Sun Jingzu and Congfu Cheng, who was a Blancpain GT Series Asia race winner with Absolute Racing at Suzuka earlier this year, as well as Adderly Fong from Hong Kong have been determined as #13 Absolute Racing drivers.

Audi is leading the drivers’ and teams’ classification of the Intercontinental GT Challenge and now faces a new task: From August 24 to 26, the young racing series will visit the circuit at Suzuka in Japan for the first time.
