Eshan Pieris will remain within the Absolute Racing team for the 2020 season. The Sri-Lankan driver came fifth in the F3 Asian series last year with the team, and will graduate up to the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia next season.

The 21-year-old Colombo-native becomes the first driver to be announced for the team and will line up on the grid for the first round of the 2020 season at Vietnam in April.

Absolute Racing teams celebrated the first Porsche Carrera Cup Asia wins of the season at Suzuka (May 25/26).

Team StarChase’s Philip Hamprecht took the honours in the first ever Porsche Carrera Cup Asia weekend in the world-famous Suzuka Circuit. The German youngster repeated the feat in race two, but a post-race penalty demoted him to seventh. The team appealed the decision and the Round 3 results remain provisional.

Two Absolute Racing serviced teams clinched podium positions in the opening round of 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at the Shanghai International Circuit.

The opening qualifying session of the season took place on Saturday morning with all four Absolute Racing-run cars looking to make an impression. Team StarChase’s Hamprecht qualified third, just 0.2 seconds shy from the pole. Tanart Sathienthirakul placed the #15 Bunjong Motosports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in sixth, while Yuan Bo put #88 Paragon Water Systems China Absolute Racing entry ninth on the grid. Bao Jinlong clocked the second fastest time in the Pro/Am class, and P13 overall.

Absolute Racing serviced teams successfully completed the three testing days at Shanghai International Circuit, in what was the opening event of 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

The weekend had a promising start with Philip Hamprecht storming to a stunning pole position. The German driver clinched pole after blasting through the streets of Singapore and setting a 2:16.258 lap time on Saturday afternoon. Team-mates Tanart Sathienthirakul, Daniel Lu and Yuan Bo qualified all within top-8.

 

Sathienthirakul set a superb lap time of 2:17.040 min to sit in fifth on the time sheet. Series debutant Lu stopped the clock eight hundredth of a second behind him in seventh, with Yuan Bo taking the final top eight position with a 2:18.096 min quick lap. Pro-Am title contender Bao Jin

The race in support of the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix is among the highlights of the 2018 PCCA calendar, which saw the first meetings take place in Shanghai, Fuji, Sydney and in the streets of Bangsaen. It became the most famous races on the calendar and it’s easy to see why. On a merciless street circuit, the heat and humidity make it even tougher for the drivers.

Qualifying for Rounds 6 and 7 took place on Friday with all six Absolute Racing-serviced cars recording top ten times.

Team StarChase’s Philip Hamprecht posted the third-fastest time during qualifying. As the second best qualifying time determines the grid for the second race of the weekend, the German youngster placed his car second on the grid for race two while AAS Motorsport by Absolute Racing’s Maxime Jousse lined up third for the Round 7.

On a less than easy weekend in the streets of Bangsaen, Thailand, Absolute Racing serviced teams added another win to its tally. Team StarChase’s Philip Hamprecht won the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (PCCA) Round 5 as Bao Jing Long took the honors for Zheng Tong Auto in the Pro-Am Class.

As with many Carrera Cup series this year, PCCA switched to the second generation 911 GT3 Cup car, bringing faster lap times amongst a number of improvements to the 12thedition of the Bangsaen Grand Prix.

Hamprecht registered the second best time in qualifying. This year’s PCCA returnee Maxime Jousse timed in sixth fastest, while Tanart Sathienthirakul posted the seventh best time. AAS Motorsport by Absolute Racing’s Jousse and est cola PTT’s Sathienthirakul were promoted one place up the grid because of an opponent grid penalty.
