EN Sports by Absolute Racing and Vincent Floirendo will be taking part of the inaugural Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport race this weekend at 7.004km Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The new GT2 concept will launch this week in Spa-Francorchamps with a one-make race at Spa-Francorchamps for a full field of Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport machines as part of the build-up to the biggest GT event of the year: the 24 Hours of Spa.

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport bears close resemblance to the 911 GT2 RS road car. It features the same 700-horsepower, 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine from the road-going model, though at 1390kg the Clubsport weighs in 80kg lighter than its road-going cousin.

The Belgium track is the perfect scenario to welcome the German sportscars field.  It is located within some nice natural scenery in the middle of the Ardennes forest, which can throw up some surprises, especially with the weather. Spa-Francorchamps is notorious for its elevation changes and fast, sweeping corners.

GT3 Asia Series and Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup podium finisher Vincent Floirendo from the Philippines is the single entry from Asia and will drive the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport for the first time at Spa. For the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup Challenger Trophy race winner this will also be his first appearance at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Ingo Matter, Team Director of Absolute Racing, said: “We are proud to take part in this amazing event, complementing our commitments in the 24 Hours of Spa race this year. This race marks a new era for GT racing. At Absolute Racing, we will take it as preparation for bigger things to come, like the Porsche Sports Cup China on 19-20 October at Shanghai. Spa is always a great place to visit, and we hope Vincent enjoys the experience to the full.”

Action in Spa begins on Thursday with two 50-minute practice sessions while the grid will be decided during qualifying on Friday morning. A bumper grid will line-up for Friday’s race one, which begins at 4.50pm local time. The second 30-minute race is scheduled for Saturday at 1.15pm local time.
