Bao Jing Long Joins Absolute Racing for 2018 PCCA Assault

Bao Jing Long will contest 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia driving an Absolute Racing prepared Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Gen 2) under Zheng Tong Auto Team banner.

Chinese driver Bao Jing Long is hoping to improve on last year’s performance. A successful winter testing at Sepang in beginning of the year was key to convince the team and the driver to join forces in 2018.

Absolute Racing has been a powerhouse in the Porsche China supported series. Absolute Racing serviced teams won the championship in both Class A and B in 2013, and finished second runner up in 2014 and 2015, repeating the overall and Class B wins in 2016. Last season Absolute Racing serviced teams celebrated race wins at Singapore and Shanghai, finishing second in the Porsche Dealer Trophy.

Zheng Tong Auto has been part of Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for the past four seasons, with driver Bao Jin Long joining the team in 2015, and is committed to establishing themselves as the team to watch in 2018 and beyond.

Fabien Fior, Absolute Racing Team Director, said: Everyone’s really pleased to have Bao in the team. We will provide him with all our experience in an effort to highlight his potential. We had a productive test in Malaysia and that has given us good direction for the future. Preparations are well underway and we look forward to the 2018 racing season.”

Valerie Li, Zheng Tong Auto Team Manager, added: “We look forward to working with one of the most successful teams in the paddock. We have been very impressed with preparation that Absolute Racing have put towards the 2018 season and believe that we have a winning team ready to compete at the highest level.”

The 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season, featuring a new specification car, will kick off on March 23-25 at Shanghai International Circuit with the Official Test Day. This year’s schedule features the return of popular stops in Shanghai, Fuji, Bangsaen, Sepang, and Singapore, as well as the series’ second visit to Sydney Motorsport Park in Australia.
