Absolute Racing, a prominent motor racing team in Mainland China and Southeast Asia founded in 2010 by motorsports specialists Ingo Matter and Fabien Fior, is thrilled to announce a significant restructuring of its company to further fortify its position in the racing industry.

In the fourteen-year-long history of Absolute Racing, the team will, for the first time, be engaged with four different car manufacturers across all series, including three in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia by AWS.

The key highlight of this restructuring is the appointment of Vincent Lin as the new Executive Director, bringing a wealth of business experience and expertise to the company. Vincent Lin's strategic vision and leadership skills are expected to play a pivotal role in propelling Absolute Racing to new heights.

Conversely, Ingo Matter, co-founder and Team Director, will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), using his extensive motorsports knowledge to lead the team through its ambitious future endeavors.

Fabien Fior, co-founder and Team Director, will take on the role of Chairman of the Board, providing invaluable insights and leadership at the strategic level.

To ensure consistent quality across all racing programs, Absolute Racing has appointed former Team Manager Nicola Sgotto as the Technical Director and Mark Turner as the Sporting Director. Each program will have its designated Team Manager working under the newly appointed Technical Director and Sporting Director for that specific program.

Headquartered in Shanghai, Absolute Racing operates in Bangkok, Shanghai, Sepang, Ningbo, and Zhuhai. The team boasts an impressive track record of victories and podium finishes across various prestigious racing series, including the Asian Le Mans Series, European Le Mans Series, China GT Championship, China Endurance Championship, F3 Asian Championship certified by FIA, GT World Challenge Asia, Intercontinental GT Challenge, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

A record winner in the Macau Grand Prix, a podium finisher in each of the Intercontinental GT Challenge Suzuka 10 Hours races, and a pole position holder in the Bathurst 12 Hour, Absolute Racing proudly participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2021, further solidifying its presence on the global motorsports stage.

Commenting on the restructuring, Ingo Matter expressed, “This strategic reshuffle marks an exciting chapter in Absolute Racing's journey. With Vincent Lin joining as the Executive Director and Fabien Fior stepping into the role of Chairman, we are confident that we have established the right business structure to achieve growth and long-term stability for the entire team. In terms of sports management, we believe we have the right people in key positions. Nicola's promotion to the overall Technical Director ensures that all programs will run as successfully as possible, and with Mark Turner advancing to the role of Sporting Director, we are confident in gaining a competitive edge during races.”

Fabien Fior added, “We’re delighted to welcome Vincent Lin as the new Executive Director. With his understanding of the sport, showcased expertise in innovation, business development, and leadership, we are confident that Vincent Lin will further strengthen Absolute Racing. His arrival aligns perfectly with a pivotal moment, propelling us into an exhilarating era for the team. Nicola has already held significant responsibilities within our organization, and now, with him in charge of all programs, we anticipate not only efficient management but also improvements in meeting the overall expectations of all our customers. Mark Turner is globally renowned for his understanding of regulations and motorsport in general, which will undoubtedly enhance the team further.”

Vincent Lin, the newly appointed Executive Director, conveyed, "Assuming the role at Absolute Racing is a distinct honor, and I approach it with a balanced blend of enthusiasm and accountability. Thrilled by the tremendous opportunities ahead, I carry a deep sense of responsibility for the exceptional achievements and capabilities of every dedicated individual at Absolute Racing. This responsibility extends to all stakeholders associated with the company and to the global community who share a unique passion for motor racing.”

Nicola Sgotto stated: “We are currently in the preparation and testing phase for the upcoming season and are pleased to announce the promotion of mechanics to international roles, giving them more responsibilities. They will be working closely with the team managers to maximize our chances of leading in various programs.”

Mark Turner said: “I’m delighted to be announced as Sporting Director at Absolute Racing. We enjoyed close to a decade working together on the Audi R8 LMS Cup and I was thrilled to be asked to reignite our partnership at two events last year including the blue-riband FIA GT World Cup in Macau. Absolute Racing have put together another formidable line-up for the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS 2024 and I am looking to build on the winning culture of the team as we take on the best of Asia motorsport. The journey starts here and silverware is the only goal.”
