B-Quik Absolute Racing heads for Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit next week for the third round of TSS The Super Series 2024 just as the race for the titles hot up.

After the opening round of the year took place in Buriram back in May followed by last month’s Bangsaen Grand Prix, the series heads abroad for the first of two rounds at Sepang Circuit, as next weekend’s third round will be immediately followed by round four at the same circuit in September.

Next weekend’s usual format will see double header races and that will take the series over the halfway point of the season meaning big helpings of championship points are vital.

We will arrive with a slender lead in the Super Car GT3 Teams’ championship while our crews are snapping at the heels of the leaders in the Drivers’ championship. Therefore big points hauls are our clear target.

In the Super Car GT3 Drivers’ standings new pairing for 2024, China’s Deng Yi and three time GT3 champion Sandy Stuvik have teamed up in the #37 Winhere by B-Quik Absolute Racing entry and after bedding in at the season opener with a podium they stated their title intent in Bangsaen with a stunning win followed up by a third place on what are the toughest streets in Thailand.

That means they lie second in the championship, just 10 points adrift off the leaders. Clearly the duo have front running pace and now have unlocked momentum and will be chasing hard for wins in Sepang.

Next up is the #25 Audi of Adisak Tangyphuncharoen and Huang Ruohan. With the latter driver skipping Bangsaen it means Tangphuncharoen surges ahead in the points standings, he’s now a handy third behind the two leading crews after a consistent season that has seen the first graduate of the B-Quik Junior Programme finish every race on the podium.

Ruohan has been a real sensation since he joined the team last year and with his parallel programme in Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia he’s rapidly coming on in leaps and bounds.

Next up is the red and black #27 Audi shared by Vincent Lin and Markus Winkelhock. Lin is also in with a clear shot at the title after three podiums from the first four races, however a DNF in the other race proved costly and he will be back with former F1 driver Winkelhock (Christopher Haase deputised at the last round).

The fourth Audi, #62, has a pairing that is unquestionably geared for wins, Akash Nandy and Eshan Pieris. They also skipped Bangsaen and will be looking for wins as they build on a double podium finish at the season opener as they need to swiftly vault their way up the points classification and get into title contention.

Both are also racing in Fanatec this year so will benefit from the extra seat time while for Malaysian Akash this is his ‘home’ race and he will be itching to impress in front of his fans.

In Super Car GT4 Henk Kiks and Erwin de Smit will be back in the #26 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and after a sensational win in Bangsaen to cap a year that has seen then on the podium in all four races they are level pegging in the GT4 Drivers’ championship overall, they’re just half a point off the top spot.

We also return to Sepang Circuit off the back of an excellent run here earlier this year in the Sepang 12 Hour. Sri Lankan Pieris was on the crew of the runner up car while Kiks and Akash finished third after an incredible fightback drive having lost two laps early on. We also have plenty of past podiums and wins here so it’s always a happy hunting ground for the team.

The third round of TSS The Super Series 2024 takes place from 9-11 August.
