B-Quik Absolute Racing come away from an action packed and enthralling Sepang 12 Hours with fourth place after a race that see-sawed in just about every direction and during which the #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II spent much of the middle third of the race comfortably in the overall race lead.
Henk Kiks, Akash Nandy and Sandy Stuvik drove superbly, battling hard over every single lap, double stinting in the relentless heat and humidity when the pressure was on, and bringing the car up from our compromised grid starting position on the third row, a result of light rain turning Friday’s qualifying into a lottery.
The trio fought their way up from P6 to the race lead within just four hours.
However, as a gripping race played out and daylight gave way to darkness, the cards simply didn’t fall our way.
In the end as the clocked ticked round to 2215, we had to settle for fourth place although over the closing laps, Nandy, in for the final stint, was rapidly chasing down the final podium step, the Malaysian just 1.7 seconds off the rostrum at the chequered flag, having torn away a more than 10 second deficit over the final few laps.
There were to be no wildcards, though, in this relatively smooth and enthralling race, no yellow flags or rain to roll the dice and reshuffle the pack.
The all-Malaysian squad at HZO Fortis Racing by Absolute Racing of brothers Hairie and Haziq Oh and Aaron Lim finished sixth of the Am entries.
The #5 Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II was in contention for a GT3 Am podium before the halfway point when it suffered a wheel bearing damage, followed by a long trundle back to the pits and further setbacks along the way. However, the home racers never gave up, valiantly fighting to the chequered flag to finish P10 overall and P4 in GT3 Am.
Now B-Quik Absolute Racing immediately turn our attention to the Official Test Days for TSS The Super Series 2025, which take place in Buriram in just ten days time, on 26-27 March, where the team will be running a roster of GT3 and GT4 cars.
