Absolute Corse concluded a demanding third round of the 2025 Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS in Buriram, Thailand, with a hard-earned podium in the Silver-Am class, highlighting the team’s pace, adaptability, and fighting spirit under pressure.

The #29 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, driven by Akash Nandy and Huang Ruohan, weathered difficult conditions across both races - including unpredictable weather, multiple time penalties, and a tight clampdown on track limits - to secure a P3 finish in Silver-Am during Sunday’s Race 2.

Headlining the weekend was the high-profile debut of the B-Quik-liveried #19 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, fielded by Absolute Corse in partnership with B-Quik Absolute Racing. The entry featured accomplished Lamborghini Super Trofeo and international GT ace Loris Spinelli alongside Thai racing stalwart Henk Kiks, who was fresh off a double podium performance in TSS The Super Series.

The team hit the ground running during Friday practice, with both cars quickly coming to grips with the high-speed, technical 4.554 km Buriram circuit. Huang Ruohan topped the timing sheets in the Bronze Test session, setting the fastest lap overall in the #29 — a promising sign of what was to come.

Saturday’s qualifying sessions presented both opportunity and adversity. While both lineups showed solid one-lap pace, stewards rigorously enforced track limits, particularly at Turns 1, 3, 4, 8, and 12, resulting in several deleted lap times. Huang Ruohan still secured a P10 overall and P2 in Silver-Am, while Henk Kiks, hampered by traffic and further track limits calls, placed P29 overall and P13 in Pro-Am.

In the second qualifying session, pro drivers Loris Spinelli and Akash Nandy delivered clean, competitive runs. Italy’s Loris Spinelli placed the #19 car P11 overall (P8 in Pro-Am), with Akash Nandy delivering a strong fourth in Silver-Am, setting up a promising grid position for the opening race.

Race 1 unfolded with drama from the outset. A chaotic opening corner forced Huang Ruohan in the #29 to take evasive action, losing ground early. Regaining composure, he fought back before incurring a drive-through penalty for repeated track limits infringements. Despite a significant drop in track position, the team responded strategically, extending Huang’s stint and handing the car over to the Malaysian racer mid-race. A full-course yellow and safety car later bunched the field, offering a glimmer of hope, but two additional penalties derailed the recovery — leaving the duo to finish P24 overall.

Meanwhile, the #19 crew mounted a spirited comeback from the back of the grid. Henk Kiks delivered a solid opening stint, gaining multiple positions before handing over to Loris Spinelli, who carved through the field with clinical precision. The pair surged to P8 overall and P5 in Pro-Am, securing valuable championship points.

Sunday’s Race 2 saw a renewed charge from #29 ‘bull’. Akash Nandy absorbed early-race contact without losing ground and steadily moved up the order. Huang Ruohan, taking over for the second stint, executed a clean and assertive drive, sealing a well-earned P3 in Silver-Am — a just reward for the crew’s resilience and race craft.

The #19 entry once again delivered a consistent showing. Loris Spinelli maintained a top-ten presence throughout his opening run before handing over to Henk Kiks, who brought the car home in P8 in Pro-Am — rounding out a pair of points-scoring finishes for the new partnership.

Despite a weekend filled with penalties and unpredictable conditions, Absolute Corse showcased strong fundamental pace, excellent pit stop execution, and a never-say-die attitude across both cars. With competitive lap times from all four drivers, the team leaves Buriram with valuable momentum.

With the Southeast Asia leg of the season now complete, the championship shifts north to Fuji Speedway for the first of back-to-back races in Japan. Absolute Corse will return to action from July 11–13 with renewed focus and a clear target: more class podiums and continued upward trajectory in the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia standings.
