The 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia (LSTA) season kicked off in style this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park in Australia, marking an impressive start for Absolute Racing.

Fielding three entries - SQDA-GRIT Motorsport, HZO Fortis Racing Team by Absolute Racing, and Delta Garage Racing by Absolute Racing - the squad made a strong statement with multiple class podium finishes across both races. The highlight of the weekend came in race two, where they secured a commanding Pro-Am class victory.

Qualifying: Solid Starting Positions Across All Classes

Saturday morning’s qualifying sessions set the tone for a competitive weekend as the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia made its debut at Australia’s challenging 3.9km Sydney Motorsport Park. Korea’s Brian Changwoo Lee put in a consistent drive in Q1, securing fourth place in the Pro-Am class for the #63 SQDA-GRIT Motorsport entry. In Q2, his new teammate Alex Liang Jiatong delivered an impressive performance to qualify fifth overall and second in the Pro-Am class.

In the Am class, both Absolute Racing-run teams showed steady form. Hairie Oh and Umar Abdullah took third and fourth respectively in Q1, while Haziq Oh and Dypo Fitramadhan secured second and fourth place finishes in Q2 within the Am category.

Race 1: Double Podium for Am Crews, Pro-Am Team Penalized Post-Race

Held on Saturday, race one saw former AM class champion Brian Lee maintain strong pace in the opening stint of the race, holding his own against a field featuring several Pro drivers. Alex Liang took over in the second half, engaging in a fierce battle for position and ultimately crossed the line fifth overall and second in the Pro-Am class. However, a post-race penalty due to contact during the race dropped the #63 car to third in class.

In the Am class, the Malaysian sibling duo Hairie Oh and Haziq Oh made steady progress throughout the race. Making their AM class debut this season, the pair climbed from third in class to finish second in a composed and confident drive.

Meanwhile, Indonesian debutant duo Umar Abdullah and Dypo Fitramadhan of Delta Garage Racing by Absolute Racing put in a calm and collected performance to round out the Am class podium in third place.

Race 2: Redemption for #63 Car with Pro-Am Win, Consistency from Am Crews

Sunday’s Race 2 brought redemption for the #63 car. Starting second in class, Lamborghini Seoul pair Alex Liang and Brian Lee executed a flawless race, capitalizing on a strong pit stop strategy and clean driving to finish fourth overall and secure the Pro-Am class victory - the team’s best result of the weekend.

The #5 HZO Fortis Team by Absolute Racing Lamborghini led much of the Am class during race two, showing promising pace throughout. Unfortunately, an incident in the final 15 minutes dashed the reigning Lamborghini Cup champions hopes of a class win, as they dropped to fifth after rejoining the race.

Delta Garage Racing by Absolute Racing’s Indonesian pairing continued to build momentum, finishing fourth in the Am class after another smooth and measured drive.

With LSTA season-opener complete at Sydney, Absolute Racing will quickly shift focus to Sepang, Malaysia, where the GT World Challenge Asia by AWS season is about to kick off. The LSTA is back in action again next month, with round two at the home of the Chinese Grand Prix, the Shanghai International Circuit from May 16-18.
