After a superb maiden season in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, where Absolute Racing clinched championships in the Pro and Am classes, as well as secured the Team classification honors, the team is returning to the series to run four Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2 cars.

Last season, Absolute Racing’s Marco Giltrap and Chris van der Drift won 11 out of the 12 races across the year on their way to a comfortable Pro title success. The up-and-coming youngster Giltrap is returning to the team in Sepang to try to emulate last season’s success, lining up with another Kiwi rising star, Clay Osborne. The 18-year-old driver, a world championship-winning karter and four-time NZ champion, will embark on his first international campaign after previous experiences in Formula First, Formula Ford, and the New Zealand Toyota 86 Championship, where he has competed for the past two seasons.

Business owner and social media influencer Changwoo “Brian” Lee is returning to the series this year after an impressive debut season where he contended for the Am category title until the very last race. The Korean racer finished second in the final Am category standings with four victories and never finished off the podium. Lee will drive solo the Super Trofeo car run by SQDA-GRIT Motorsport, which will feature a new livery for the upcoming season.

Also coming back to the series are the HZO Fortis Racing Team by Absolute Racing duo of Haziq Zairel Oh and Hairie Zairel Oh. Coached by former A1 Grand Prix driver Aaron Lim, the popular Malaysian Am drivers were Lamborghini Cup race winners in their debut season last year.

The 610 Racing Team by Absolute Racing will be a new addition to the series this year, featuring Xuanyu Li and Wenjun Xie on the grid. The Chinese duo is familiar with Absolute Racing, having participated in last year's TSS Thailand Super Series meeting with B-Quik Absolute Racing at Buriram.

Ingo Matter, Team Principal, said: “After the fantastic success we had last year, we're thrilled to be returning with four cars to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia. We have a great mix of experienced drivers and newcomers. Our goal is to replicate last year's wins, and we're putting in the hard work to make it happen.”

The 2024 Super Trofeo season begins on the opening weekend of May at Sepang, Malaysia, followed by races in Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park near Adelaide. The Korean leg returns to Inje, and then the series moves to Fuji in Japan and Shanghai in China to complete the Asia-Pacific segment of the year. Finally, the season concludes with the finale and World Finals in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, marking a return to Europe.
