As Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia (LSTA) arrived in China at the Shanghai International Circuit, Absolute Racing teams maintained their strong momentum, securing class wins in both races.

The two 50-minute races on the 5.451 km FIA Grade 1 Shanghai track promised to be nothing short of spectacular—and they certainly delivered.

Korean privateer Brian Lee Changwon was a late arrival to the Shanghai circuit, missing the free practice sessions on Friday. Nevertheless, the SQDA-GRIT Motorsport Lamborghini driver was keen to extend his lead in the AM class at Absolute Racing's home track. He qualified ninth overall and third in the AM class for the opening race.

Driving solo was always going to be a challenge, especially with the scorching temperatures in Shanghai, which posed a real test for solo drivers like Brian Lee. However, the late-day race and an early Safety Car period worked in favor of the Lamborghini Seoul driver. A steady, mistake-free performance led Brian Lee to a well-earned victory in the AM class—his sixth class win of the season—and an impressive fourth place overall.

This season’s Lamborghini Cup standouts, Hairie and Haziq Oh, continued their strong form, securing their ninth class win on Sunday. The Malaysian brothers, racing for HZO Fortis Racing Team by Absolute Racing, know they can’t afford any mistakes, with their rivals lurking in the shadows, ready to capitalize on any slip-up. Coached by renowned Malaysian driver Aaron Lim, they delivered a flawless race to secure the victory.

610Racing by Absolute’s Li Xuanyu and Xie Wenjun, who surprised everyone by securing their maiden pole position for race two, were racing in their first LSTA event on home soil. Unfortunately for the Chinese duo, the first race was cut short due to an accident on the second lap.

The weather-affected Sunday race brought mixed feelings for the team. Pole-sitter Li Xuanyu couldn’t take advantage of his starting position and was forced to retire early on the fifth lap. Brian Lee stayed close to the Pro drivers during the first half of the race, while HZO Fortis Racing Team by Absolute Racing comfortably held a top-10 position and led the Lamborghini Cup field.

Unfortunately, as the race entered its second half, the rain—caused by the typhoon that hit Shanghai that weekend—arrived in full force. One of the casualties was the Malaysian duo's Lamborghini, which fell victim to aquaplaning and crashed into the barriers. This misfortune forced the team to retire before the race was red-flagged. Having completed the minimum number of laps required to be classified, the Oh brothers now have a comfortable 20-point lead in the Lamborghini Cup, with only two races remaining.

After the restart, the solo Absolute Racing-run Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2 of Brian Lee managed to navigate through the chaos, finishing sixth overall and securing its seventh win in the AM class. He now stands in first place in the Am class drivers' standings, 15 points ahead.

The next LSTA round will be held at Circuito de Jerez in Spain. At the historic Jerez de la Frontera circuit, the Absolute Racing teams will also compete in the prestigious Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals on 16/17 November.
