B-Quik Absolute Racing is pleased to announce its first ever entry into the Macau Grand Prix.
For the team’s debut on what is one of the world’s most famous and demanding street circuits, located in the former Portuguese enclave, it will enter a roster of four Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II racecars in the Greater Bay Area GT Cup with a mix of competitive and win proven AM drivers, all of whom will be racing here for the first time.
This year sees the once a decade opportunity for AM drivers to compete as the event spreads out over two weekends and it’s a moonshot chance that the team simply couldn’t miss out on despite it coming at very short notice after a long season and just as we build up to the final round of Thailand Super Series (TSS) where we are looking to add the GT3 Drivers’ title to the already sealed GT3 Teams’ crown.
Kicking off the line-up will be the #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II of team leader Henk Kiks who arrives off the back off a strong season in TSS where he’s enjoyed a run of podiums.
He also drove in the Singapore GP support race, in September, fighting his way into the midst of the top ten in both races, his second year on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, and coupled with a decade and a half racing on the Bangsaen Street Circuit, where he has overall GT3 wins to his name, it means the experienced Dutchman is ready and prepared to tackle one of the most famous and toughest street circuits in the world.
Vincent Floriendo will drive the #55 Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II and while it will be his first time in Macau, he’s certainly got plenty of street racing experience to call upon as, just like teammate Kiks, it will be his third street track this year.
For the past two years Floriendo has raced in Bangsaen and Singapore, on both occasions with excellent results, including podiums, so the former two time Filipino GT champion should be razor sharp and well prepared for this new challenge.
He’s in top form too, as he currently leads the TSS Super Car GT3 Drivers’ standings with one round remaining.
Andrew Haryanto, the winner of the 2018 Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup and the 2023 Sepang 12 Hour, will make his debut on these streets. The Indonesian amateur driver enjoyed a successful Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia campaign with Absolute Racing this season, winning races in Motegi and Sepang.
A Le Mans 24 Hour regular in the past three years, Haryanto is no stranger to street circuits, having won the opening race of TSS at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in 2022, while driving an Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II.
The fourth entry is for Macau debutant Vincent Lin. The Chinese driver is not a stranger to the team, having raced for Absolute Racing in the GT Super Sprint Challenge.
This season, he moved up to the GT3 ranks, having experienced two overseas races. In the Super Series round of Sepang, his first international race, Lin impressed the field and took two GT3 Am wins.
He also raced in the Singapore Grand Prix support race last September, his first street circuit outing. The Chinese driver finished second in the first race and third in the second.
B-Quik Absolute Racing has had a hectic season and we still have one TSS round remaining, but we’re excited to take up the challenge of racing in Macau and preparations are in full swing.
