Tsingtao and Absolute Racing have joined forces on the illustrious stage of the 71st Macau Grand Prix, bringing a unique brand allure to the Macau GT Cup - FIA GT World Cup race. The No. 25 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, featuring a striking Chinese dragon special livery, captivated spectators with its vibrant colours and dynamic design, highlighting Tsingtao Beer’s ambition to partner with premier international motorsport.
Laurens Vanthoor, behind the wheel of the Tsingtao special livery car, exhibited remarkable composure during today’s 12-lap Qualification Race on the challenging streets of Macau.
From the start, Vanthoor demonstrated exceptional defensive skills, effectively fending off his opponents' advances and maintaining his position on the demanding circuit. As the race progressed, he steadily established his rhythm, extending his lead over the chasing pack while avoiding any errors.
Despite the narrow and undulating nature of the track making overtaking extremely challenging, Vanthoor crossed the finish line in 8th place, securing a valuable starting position for tomorrow's main event.
The excitement continues tomorrow with the main event of the Macau Grand Prix programme. Laurens Vanthoor and the No. 25 Absolute Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R will aim to gain as many positions as possible in a thrilling 16-lap showdown against the world's elite GT3 competitors.
The 16-lap Main Race is scheduled for Sunday at 12:25 p.m. local time and will be broadcast live on the FIA’s YouTube channel.
