Absolute Racing teams had a great start in the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, securing two overall wins and five class victories at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

The Sepang circuit is one of the hottest and certainly the most humid venue of the year, with temperatures in the region of 35 degrees centigrade and 80% humidity. Indeed, the drivers faced one of the most physically challenging weekends of the season. The track is also demanding on the tyres due to its aggressive surface, heavy braking areas, long straights and wide variety of speeds and corners. These were some of the obstacles our drivers had to overcome with success.

Last year's champion Marco Giltrap and series newcomer Clay Osborne have had a perfect start to the season. The Lamborghini Auckland lineup secured two overall wins and two PRO class victories, also earning the pole position for race one. The only point missed on this nearly perfect weekend for the New Zealand youngsters was in the wet and unpredictable qualifying session two.

Changwoo Lee, who is driving solo this year, was the dominant force in the AM class. SDIT-GRIT Motorsport driver was even able to challenge the fight for overall positions among the PRO class drivers. In Saturday's race, victory in the AM class eluded the Korean racer and influencer only due to an off-track excursion that dropped him to second place by the end. However, he bounced back on Sunday with a dominant win in the AM class, finishing fourth overall, in the Lamborghini Seoul car.

In their first appearance in Super Trofeo Asia, the 610Racing by Absolute Racing duo Xuanyu Li and Wenjun Xie claimed the pole position in the AM class for the opening race. The Chinese drivers finished the races in 4th and 5th positions.

The HZO Fortis Racing Team by Absolute Racing kicked off their pursuit of the Lamborghini Cup title in impressive style. The esteemed Malaysian brothers, Haziq and Hairie Oh, secured victories in both races and earned pole-position points for the two races.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia continues at The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia, Adelaide, from June 7-9.
